Ghalegaun is celebrating 25 years of rural homestay tourism. Twelve owners opened their homes to visitors in 2001. There are now 46 family homestays. Tourism Management Committee uses a rotating system to place guests throughout the village. Guests register and pay at the TMC Office in the bus park. All homestays meet common standards and requirements.

The homestay families warmly welcome guests to their homes and kitchens, serving traditional Gurung meals using local, organic vegetables and foods. Guests can experience cultural and dances shows such as the ethnic Gurung Ghatu and Rodhi dances. The villagers welcome and bid farewell to their guests with tika and flowers.
