Ghalegaun, which is smiling in the light of tourism, is famous all over the world. Rural tourism is making the villagers prosperous. Ghalegaun has become a model school of rural tourism for other villages in the country as well. Prem Bahadur Ghale is the driving force in making Ghalegaun a tourist destination.
Ghalegaun has changed its colour under his dream and leadership. Rural tourism was practiced in 12 houses of the village with homestay facility on Chaitra 20,2056 B.S. At present 42 houses have homestay facility. Tourism income is distributed among the villagers. Yesterday, foreign employment was the main source of income, but today, the village is becoming stronger through tourism.
Prem Bdr. Ghale, who grew up in a Lahure culture of Ghalegaun, had travelled to Simla places at the age of 19 to join the Indian Army. He did not weigh enough to be admitted there. After staying in Simla for few months, he understood the sorrows of Lahure. He thought, "If such hard work could be done in the village, the merit of the motherland would be paid."
After giving up his dream of becoming a Lahure and returning home, he opened Ghale uttarkanya primary school in Ghalegaun and donated education for 10 years. He was also fond of politics, so in 2048 B.S. He was elected as a chairperson of uttarkanya VDC. He was elected unopposed for the second time in 2054 B.S. He was also elected as a chairperson of the Kwholasothar rural municipality.
He dreamed of blossoming tourism in Ghalgaun, Enhrined confluence of nature, culture and history. He not only dreamed, but also led the work of raising public awareness, infrastructure development and marketing. He is still doing that. The villagers are also doing their part to help him.
Ghalegaun is a safe destination. The villagers are generous, honest, friendly, and affectionate.
Gradually his dream is coming true. Road from Besishahar, The district headquarters of Lamjung, to Ghalegaun is soon becoming black-topped. He is hopeful that the expending tourists will increase in the village after the road is paved. The tourist will stay in Ghalegaun for a few days and hang out.
He is not limited to Ghalegaun, after becoming a chairman, he has been involved in the campaign to the entire Kwholasothar rural municipality a tourist centre. For that, work has been started in Pasgaun, Bhujung, Ghamrang, Gilung and Baglunpani. Carrying youthful enthusiasm even at the age of 62, Prem Bahadur Ghale, the hero of rural tourism wants to dedicate his life in tourism.
